General eligibility to take admission in the ensuing academic session 2024-2025
- A candidate who has passed the Higher Secondary (10+2) or its equivalent Examination and also passed in English having full marks not being less than 100. The subject "Alternative English" can not be considered as English.
- Candidates who have passed the Higher Secondary (10+2) Vocational examination conducted by the West Bengal State Council of Vocational Education and Training shall be eligible to seek admission to the B.A. (Multidisciplinary) 1st year Course of Studies taking the subjects under Humanities Division (Bengali, English, Education, History, Political Science) only.
- No candidate shall be allowed to take admission after a lapse of more than 3 years from the year of passing the previous qualifying examination.

- Candidates belonging to the SC or ST community taking up Hons. course of study must have obtained a minimum of 40% marks in the aggregate or 40% marks in the subject or related subjects at the last examination.
- There is no marks relaxation for EWS, OBC and PH candidates.
- The top four subjects in order of marks, secured by a candidate will not include compulsory Environmental Education/Studies. If the subject ‘Environmental Science’ is studied as an elective subject of 100 marks, it may be taken into account for the purpose of determining the best 4 aggregates.
- All candidates seeking admission in B.Sc. Honours & Honours with Research Courses must secure pass marks in theory and practical both in all lab based subjects in the last examination (where applicable).

- Admissions to all Under Graduate courses for ensuing academic session 2023-2024 will be made online only, through our college website sarsunacollege.ac.in.
- All information regarding Admission will be published in the college website. Candidates must check the college website regularly.
- A candidate must check eligibility and read all the instructions carefully before applying to a course.
- For application, a candidate must register himself/herself in Sarsuna College Online Admission Portal first. The candidate must keep his/her User Name and Password safely for future reference.
- User name will be auto generated based on the information provided by the candidate at the time of registration. It will be the short form of your 10+2 examination Board followed by Roll number followed by year of passing.
- After successful registration in Sarsuna College Online Admission Portal, the candidate needs to Sign in to the portal by using the User Name and Password to fill up the online application form.
- The candidate needs to fill the basic information in the application form only once. After which he/she can add one or more courses in which he/she wishes to apply.
- Applications to each course/subject will have distinct Application Number and will treated individually.
- Application Serial Number will be the last 5 digits of the Application Number.
- A candidate must take print out of his/her application form for each of the courses/subject applied by signing in to the online admission portal of the college using the registered User name and Password. These documents must be kept safely by the applicant.
- Applicants can check status of their application(s) and take printout of the application form by signing in to the portal.
- Applications that do not satisfy the minimum eligibility will be rejected.
- Merit list of all valid applications will be published on the announced date.
- Admission to different courses will be purely based on merit.
- After publication of merit list a selection list will be published containing information of candidates allowed to take admission based on seat availability.
- Selected candidates can take provisional admission by paying the requisite admission fee for the course within the permissible dates. Failing which the application will be cancelled.
- The valid candidates who are not selected for admission in the selection list should wait for the next list.
- After the last date of admission of the published selection list, a new selection list will be published, subject to availability of seats.
- A candidate will be allowed for admission only once against a particular application number. However he/she will be allowed for admission against his/her other valid application(s) in later stages, if selected.
- A candidate must upload the following documents when asked by the college:
- Age Proof (Admit Card/Certificate of Madhyamik or Equivalent Examination/Birth Certificate)
- 10+2 Mark Sheet
- Caste Certificate (For SC/ST/OBC category candidates)
- Persons with Disabilities (PWD) Certificate (For PWD candidates only)
- BPL Certificate (For BPL category candidates)
- Migration Certificate (For candidates from different boards other than ICSE / WBCHSE / WBBME / CBSE / NIOS / Rabindra Mukta Vidyalaya)
- Equivalence Certificate (For foreign Candidates)
- Registration Certificate (for already registered candidates)
- Detailed list of documents to upload will be notified. Please check the website regularly.
- The candidate must produce the above mentioned documents in original when asked by the college authority for verification after commencement of classes.
- To make the application procedure simple and easy, no documents are required to upload at the time of application. But the applicant must upload it when asked by the college authority. The date will be announced in the college website.
- All dates are tentative and subject to change. Any changes in the dates will be notified through the college website only.
- The college authority reserves right to cancel your candidature if found any mismatch between your application form and your testimonials at the time of verification or at any later stage.
- No Application fee will be charged as directed by Department of Higher Education, Govt. of West Bengal.
- Check Subject Combination wise total fees for Admission fees.
- Note that fees for subsequent Semesters may be revised based on Calcutta University new CSR.
- Students have to pay laboratory fees for laboratory based IDC subject.
- Fees can be paid online (UPI/ Credit Card/ Debit Card/ Net Banking) or by ICICI Bank Challan.
- Fees can be paid online by using Credit card/ Debit Card or Net Banking of any Bank.
- For payment through ICICI Bank Challan, the candidate needs to generate the ICICI Bank Challan for the appropriate application(s). The student must take a print of the challan and make payment at any ICICI Branch with in the permissible date and time.
- For payment through ICICI Bank Challan, the candidate must check his Name, Course code(s) of the course(s) for which he/she want to make payment, Roll number of 10+2 exam, Application Serial Number(s) that is the last 5 digits of application number(s) for which he/she want to make payment and the Subject for Honours.
- A Challan is valid for the selected application(s) by the candidate only and can not be photocopied for payment by other candidates.
- Payment through ICICI bank challan will be updated in the college portal after receiving confirmation from the bank about the payment. Generally, this update takes one working day after payment in the bank.
- Payments through ONLINE by UPI/Credit/Debit cards or Net Banking is highly encouraged.
- A candidate willing to apply or want to take provisional admission after selection must pay the application fees /admission fees (whichever is applicable) within the permissible dates of the phase of admission in which he/she is eligible. Admission/Application of candidates who make payment after permissible dates will not be considered. Furthermore, admission fees paid after permissible dates of a phase will be forfeited.
- All candidates must keep their Admission fees receipt (provided by the college) carefully for the entire course without which no admission is valid.
- An applicant, willing to Cancel his/her admission must cancel the admission through online portal only.
- An applicant, willing for refund of his/her cancelled course, must submit application for refund online and take a print out of the refund application form within time for refund in case of admission cancellation. No queries regarding refund can be entertained without refund application form.
- Please note that merely cancelling the admission does not make you eligible for refund. For refund you must apply for refund and keep your refund application form safely.
Documents required to upload to take provisional Admission
A candidate is required to upload scanned (digital) images of his/her documents as per specifications given bellow:The file format of all the scanned images must be JPG (No other file format is allowed, not even JPEG)

• Recent passport size photograph
• Size of file should be within 50 KB
• Resolution of the image is 100 DPI
2. Signature Image
• Size of file should be within 50 KB
• Resolution of the image is 100 DPI
3. Age Proof Document Image
• Admit Card/Certificate of Madhyamik/Equivalent Examination/Birth Certificate
• Size of image should be within 150 KB.
• Resolution of the image is 150 DPI
4. Mark Sheet Document Image
• Size of image should be within 150 KB.
• Resolution of the image is 150 DPI
